Genius Sports has launched Prediction.com, a dedicated affiliate platform that aggregates pricing and contract information across multiple prediction market exchanges while overlaying real-time sports data feeds. The move targets a fundamental pain point in the emerging prediction markets sector: the fragmentation forcing users to hop between platforms to compare odds and track market evolution during live events.

Bridging the Data Gap

Built by Legend, Genius Sports' consumer media and technology division acquired for $1.2 billion in 2023, Prediction.com lets users compare equivalent event contracts side-by-side across different platforms. The real innovation here is integrating Genius Sports' official in-game data with dynamic market pricing, so you can follow play-by-play action alongside real-time probability shifts and price movements across venues.

The platform features a proprietary cross-venue engine that compares multi-leg contract combinations. This addresses a real complexity in prediction markets where traders often want to construct sophisticated, multi-outcome positions. It's what separates Prediction.com from simple price comparison tools; it actually acknowledges how prediction market traders operate in practice.

Integrity as Foundation

The launch reinforces Genius Sports' strategy of positioning itself as the trusted infrastructure provider for prediction markets, not just another data vendor. Sean Conroy, EVP of rights and partnerships, made the point plainly: as the category scales rapidly, integrity safeguards must be embedded from the outset rather than bolted on as an afterthought.

This matters more given Genius Sports' August partnerships with both Polymarket and Kalshi, where the company supplies real-time event data, league integrity services, and streaming capabilities. Competitor Sportradar signed similar multi-year deals with both platforms in June, showing that prediction markets operators view official data and integrity services as essential, not peripheral.

Strategic Momentum During Peak Season

Prediction.com's launch coincides with the NFL season. That's the commercial pinnacle for sports data monetisation. Genius Sports maintains partnerships with DraftKings and FanDuel as official NFL data providers, positions that extend into the prediction markets space.

Citizens equity analyst Jordan Bender has flagged that the Kalshi and Polymarket deals represent meaningful catalysts for Legend's integration within Genius Sports. As the prediction markets industry expands rapidly, investors will scrutinise whether Genius can leverage Legend's media relationships and audience to capture meaningful revenue share from this emerging vertical.

CEO Mark Locke articulated the strategic logic plainly: prediction markets create additional revenue streams from the same sports intellectual property. More platforms need data services. More competitive pressure benefits operators acquiring customers through Genius' platforms. Rather than viewing prediction markets as competitive threats to traditional sports betting, Locke positions them as complementary expansion opportunities that multiply the addressable market for data and media services.
